Kiev: Russia is continuously making deadly attacks on Ukraine. Russia targeted the whole of Ukraine with missiles and drones on the intervening night of Monday-Tuesday, killing at least two people. After these attacks, firing started on the outskirts of the capital Kiev. Officials gave information about this on Tuesday. A day before this, Russia had targeted Ukraine’s power plants. These attacks by Russia were condemned by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Drone and missile attacks were foiled
According to Aleksandr Vilkul, the chief military regime administrator of Ukraine’s southern mining and industrial Krivi Rahstrak city, the attacks were carried out by targeting a residential building. After the attack by Russia on Monday, the power supply in the Kiev region came to a halt and an air strike alert was issued at least five times at night. The regional administrator said that the air defense system thwarted all the attacks by Russia with drones and missiles, but the debris caused a forest fire.
Ukraine’s appeal to allies
President Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday described the attacks by more than 100 missiles and drones by Russia as ‘abhorrent’. He said that the attacks damaged civilian infrastructure and targeted most parts of the country. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said, “Once again Russian terrorists have targeted energy infrastructure.” He urged Ukraine’s allies to provide it with long-range weapons and allow them to be used on targets inside Russia.
