New York: The case of Pooja Khedkar, who got an IAS job on the basis of fake documents, had not even cooled down that another similar case has caused a stir. Therefore, the Indian student will now have to return to India.\

Controversial IAS Officer Pooja Khedkar Allegedly Submitted Fake Certificates

Let us tell you that the Indian student arrested for manipulating the documents to get admission will be sent back to his country under an agreement with the US authorities. Aryan Anand (19) had submitted fake documents to get admission in Lehigh University of Pennsylvania in the academic session 2023-2024. A report last month in ‘The Brown and White’, a newspaper published by Lehigh University students, said that police investigations found that Anand had falsified admission and financial aid documents. The report said that he had also “falsely claimed the death of his father” to get admission and scholarship.

Bail granted on US$25,000

Anand was tried in the court of Magisterial District Judge Jordan Nisley, with a bail amount of US$25,000. He was convicted of forgery. The website ‘lehighvalleylive.com’ quoted defense lawyer Molly Heidorn as saying that under the plea agreement, Anand was sentenced to one to three months, “which is similar to the period he spent in jail”. Under this agreement, Anand will have to return to India. Lehigh University did not demand compensation of US$ 85,000 from the student. He was released and handed over to US Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials.

This is how the student was caught
The whole case of the student manipulating documents for admission came to light when he shared a post on the social media platform ‘Reddit’ titled “I built my life and career on the foundation of lies.” However, he did not reveal his identity in that post, but gave detailed information about the method of manipulation. Later Anand deleted that post, but the police investigation revealed that Anand had made this post.
