The Ministry of Health said that after the symptoms of polio appeared in the child, tests were conducted, in which the infection was confirmed. This child had not received a single dose of anti-polio vaccine. This infection usually occurs in children under five years of age and spreads through contaminated water etc. Pakistan and Afghanistan are countries where polio infection has never stopped. The World Health Organization (WHO) has not given any reaction in this matter.
Case came after 25 years
A case of polio attack has come to light in Gaza after 25 years. During this time, the United Nations Children’s Agency (UNICEF) has asked Israel and Hamas to stop the war for seven days, so that 6,40,000 Palestinian children can be given polio vaccine. Officials said that last month the polio virus was found in the wastewater of two major cities of Gaza. According to the United Nations, the area has been polio-free for the last 25 years.
