Dhaka: Bangladesh has now embarked on such a path of fanaticism, which takes it on the path of Pakistan and Taliban. Hindus are being selectively targeted here. Now the situation has reached such a point that resignations are being forcibly taken from Hindu and other minority teachers already posted in the temple of education. From this, one can easily gauge the radical Islamic thinking growing in Bangladesh. Let us tell you that since the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government on August 5 in Bangladesh, at least 49 teachers from minority communities have been forced to resign in the violence-affected country.

49 minority teachers in Bangladesh forced to resign since Aug 5: Report | World News - Business Standard

An organization of minorities gave this information. It includes Hindus, Buddhists and Christians. According to the news of the newspaper ‘The Daily Star’, the student wing of ‘Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Oikya Parishad’, ‘Bangladesh Chhatra Oikya Parishad’ said this in a press conference on Saturday. The organisation’s coordinator Sajib Sarkar said that in the violence that continued for several days after 76-year-old Prime Minister Hasina stepped down and left the country, minority teachers were beaten up across the country and at least 49 of them were forced to resign.

Attacks on women and looting

The report quoted Sajib as saying that 19 of them were later reinstated. The government said that during this period religious and ethnic minorities also faced incidents such as attacks, looting, attacks on women, vandalism of temples, arson on homes and businesses and murders. According to data compiled by the ‘Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council’ and ‘Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad’, at least 205 incidents of attack on people of the minority community took place in 52 districts since the fall of the Hasina-led government.
