An organization of minorities gave this information. It includes Hindus, Buddhists and Christians. The organisation’s coordinator Sajib Sarkar said that in the violence that continued for several days after 76-year-old Prime Minister Hasina stepped down and left the country, minority teachers were beaten up across the country and at least 49 of them were forced to resign.

Attacks on women and looting

The report quoted Sajib as saying that 19 of them were later reinstated. The government said that during this period religious and ethnic minorities also faced incidents such as attacks, looting, attacks on women, vandalism of temples, arson on homes and businesses and murders. According to data compiled by the ‘Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council’ and ‘Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad’, at least 205 incidents of attack on people of the minority community took place in 52 districts since the fall of the Hasina-led government.
