New Delhi: PM Modi spoke to the new Prime Minister of Britain, Keir Starmer and the newly elected President of Iran, Dr. Pezeshkian on phone. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated both the leaders on their victory. He also expressed his commitment to further strengthen India-Britain and India-Iran relations. After talking to British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, PM Modi also shared it on X. He wrote that “Glad to speak to Keir Starmer. Congratulated him on being elected as the Prime Minister of Britain. We are committed to further strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between India and Britain and deepening economic relations for the progress, prosperity and global well-being of our people.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated Dr. Pezeshkian, who created history by registering a big victory in the presidential election of Iran. PM Modi also shared it on X and wrote that “Congratulations Dr. Pezeshkian on your election as the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran. I look forward to working closely with you to further strengthen our cordial and long-standing bilateral relations between India and Iran for the benefit of our people and the region.

Both leaders have registered bumper victory
Britain’s new Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Iran’s President Dr. Pezeshkian have registered bumper victory in their country’s elections. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s Labor Party has got 412 seats in the 650-seat parliamentary election. On the other hand, PM Sunak’s Conservative Party has faced a crushing defeat. Starmer was once known for his anti-India statements on Kashmir and many other issues. But now his stand has changed. He is now in favour of India and against Hinduphobia (those who hate Hindus). On the other hand, Iran’s newly elected President Dr. Pezeshkian defeated fundamentalist leader Jalili. Dr. Pezeshkian secured 28 lakh more votes than Jalili.
